Rickey Henderson Award

Who do you think won? You have a guess, right, but you wouldn't bet anything on it? I don't blame you. There were some big seasons in the LOC this season, but no runaway and hide ones. That said, I still can't believe that Esteban Loaiza came out of nowhere to win his second straight...okay, okay. Owners were a little more sober this year. In a race tighter than Hilary Duff, your Most Valuable Player of 2004 is Amsterdan rightfielder Manny Ramirez. The results:

Manny Ramirez, Amsterdan: 14 (2)

Johan Santana, Minnesota: 13 (2)

Carlos Beltran, ToC: 12 (4)

Vlad Guerrero, St. Paul: 9 (1)

Ichiro, Justinapolis: 3 (1)

Others receiving votes: Curt Schilling 3, David Ortiz 3, Gary Sheffield 2, Alex Rodriguez 1

Note: Yes, once again Beltran did not receive any votes other than his 4 first place ones which were twice as many as anyone else. Just call him Al Gore.
